Multiple backup systems, old-fashioned brick and concrete building construction, and enhanced security measures are among the many ways EDC offers the high level of protection mission critical systems deserve.

Elm Data Center secure location is inside a former ice cream factory on Elm Street in Downtown Buffalo, New York — far from those zones most likely to be afflicted by natural disasters that cause power-disruption and destroy structures. The cement structure is rated for 250 pounds per square foot, and takes advantage of the proximity of the area’s telecom/data infrastructure and high capacity power grid. By transitioning a one-time industrial asset into a technology resource, we’re helping to maintain both our area’s heritage and economic vitality.

Redundant Systems

EDC offers redundant systems designed to maintain your system’s required availability. Fiber optic cables enter from opposite sides of the building, virtually ensuring that high speed access continues should an external event damage one.

Professional Monitoring & Protection

EDC is securely monitored 24 x 7 with a CCTV camera system, and video data is archived for at least 90 days. Access to server rooms is controlled through keycard and pinpad entry, a two-part “man trap” entry system further guards against unauthorized access, and each rack or cage can only be accessed with its own key.
